Died, March 2, 1903, at the resident of her son, Joesph, in Liberty township, Mrs. Anna Hineline, aged 81 years, 8 months, 18 days. Anna Houser, daughter of John H. and Barbara (Bibler) Houser, Virginians, was born in Fairfield Co., Ohio, June 14, 1821. April 11, 1839, she married William F. Hineline, who was also a native of Ohio. In 1848 Mr. and Mrs. Hineline came to Indiana locating first in Noble county and later (1856) in Porter county. About fifteen years ago they made their home with their son, Joseph, where Mr. Hineline died October 3, 1899. Within a few days followed the death of a daughter, Mary Osborn, at Chesterton. The double bereavement seemed a blight to the health of Mrs. Hineline, though the illness that was to prove fatal was of only a few days' duration. Of the family of ten children four are now living, viz: Addis, Joseph, Benjamin, and Alice Johnson. "Grandma" Hineline was a familiar character, known and loved by many. About forty-four years ago she affiliated with the Christian church and continued steadfast in her chosen faith. She will be missed by a great number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and by innumerable friends.
