Longtime Alaska resident Goldie Mae Lichti died April 18, 2000, at South Peninsula General Hospital in Homer. She was 94. Services were at First Presbyterian Church in Anchorage. Dr. David L. Bleivik officiated. Interment was at Angelus Memorial Park in Anchorage.

Ms. Lichti was born November 22, 1905, in Thurman, Colo., to Sam and M. Katie Lichti. Soon after her birth, her family moved to Nebraska, where she was raised. Ms. Lichti came to Alaska in 1957, making her home with her sister. She worked for the Anchorage School District as a cook from 1958 until she retired in 1983. She then worked at Aurora Preschool until it closed in 1992 because of her sister's ill health. Ms. Lichti cared for her younger sister until she died in 1993. After her sister's death, Ms. Lichti moved into the new Chester Park Senior Housing Complex in Anchorage. In 1998 she moved to Anchor Point, making her home with her nephew Vaughn Pointer and his family. The family wrote: ''Goldie will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, courage, generous nature and strong Christian faith. Also for her loyal service to the First Presbyterian Church in Anchorage and her many years as their toddler and nursery care attendant. Hers was a life well lived.'' Ms. Lichti was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Pointer.

She is survived by her brother, Leonard Lichti of Heston, Kan.; 21 nieces and nephews; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, the most recent being Nathanael Vaughn Corey. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Mission Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 616 W. 10th Ave., Anchorage AK 99501. Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
