Marvin H. Martin, 78, of Cottonwood, died Jan. 14, 2008. He was born July 13, 1929, in Whittier, Calif., the son of Ambrose Reuben Martin and Vera Gladyse (Blossom) Martin.
He was a graduate of Whittier schools and Fullerton Junior College. Mr. Martin worked for Mobil Oil Company. He was a gospel quartet singer with the Calvarymen and a member of the Verde Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Doris; two sons, David (Debbie) Martin of Chino Hills, Calif., and Dwight (Renee) Martin of Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Sandy (Craig) Lee of Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Pauline Maddox of San Bernardino, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the Westcott Funeral Home on Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. A memorial service will be at the Verde Baptist Church Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.
