By the 1860 census of Coffee Co., AL, Mimy (21) & William N. (26) were already married with children, Hezekiah W. (3) & James M. (1). They also have Lafayette M. Phillips (9) living with them; he is probably her little brother.

In the 1870 census for Elba, Jemima (3) & Newton (38) have lost James M. and added William H. (13) Leonard J. (8), Lafayette N. (4), Susan R. (2) and a newborn named Mary L.

In the 1880 census for Clintonville, Gimima (41) & Newton (48) have Lenord J. (18), Newton L. (14), Susan (13), Mary L. (10), Sarah E. (8), Nancy A. (5), and John E. (2).

In the 1900 census for Clintonville, Jimie (61) & Nate (66) have been married 44 years with 12 children, six living. The record shows they added George W. (19) and now have a servant and a boarder with them.
