Mrs. Mary Adelaide Allison
At her home on West Fourth avenue, Derry, at 7:12 this morning, occurred the death of Mrs. Mary Adelaide Allison, widow of the late Wesley G. Allison. She had been In poor health for about two years, and on Good Friday took, to her bed. A complication of diseases ensued, and last Thursday she suffered a stroke and on Saturday went into a coma. On February 11, 1862, Mrs. Allison was born in Nineveh, now called Seward, a daughter of Lucy Jenkins and Michael Reager. At the time of her death she was aged 71 years, three months and 24 days. In Johnstown, on September 23, 18S5, she was united in marriage to Wesley G. Allison. The couple first lived in Pittsburgh and came to Derry about 45 years ago. Mr. Allison died suddenly on his engine on December 10, 1928. in the yards at Derry. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Anna Kestner, of near Millwood, and the following children: Grover C. Allison, of Colden, N.Y.; Mrs. Jeanne A. Kenngott, of Westview; Mrs. Hazel Lacack of Pitcairn, and Mrs. Catherine Wilson, of Derry. Nine grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Allison was a prominent member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, and has been a most active worker in the various organizations in Derry. Only a year or so ago she made a nice gift to her church which enabled the placing of an up to date primary department. She was quite active in civic work and a very prom-ber [sic] of the Derry Community Club. Funeral services will be held from her late residence in Derry, Wednesday evening at 7:30, with the Rev. A.G. Fischer, her pastor. In charge, assisted by the Rev. G. G. Ruff, of Pittsburgh. Interment will be private on Thursday morning, in Derry cemetery.
