Arthur H. Barnett, son of J.[H.], Martha J. Barnett, died at his home in Powhattan, August 29, 1948, at the age of 74 years. He was born October 3, 1873, in Galesburg, Illinois, moved to Kansas with his parents when only 4 years old. The family settled on a farm near Powhattan. Mr. Barnett lived almost his entire life in the Powhattan community. He lived for 40 years on the same farm. He was married in 1901 to Cora May Rife of Powhattan. They were the parents of two children. He is survived by his wife, two children, Mrs. Otto Kneisel of Powhattan, Clyde Barnett of Santa Barbara, California, one sister, Mrs. George Killoren of Powhattan, two brothers, J.D. Barnett of Enid, Oklahoma, O.G. Barnett of Garden City, Missouri, five grandchildren, a number of nieces [and] nephews, a host of friends [and] neighbors.
