Linda L. Deckard, 65, Sullivan, passed away at 12:43 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.
She was born Sept. 21, 1942, in Sullivan to Richard S. Sr. and Ada Parks Brown.
The 1960 graduate Sullivan High School graduate was a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church. She was retired from General Telephone Co. and was formerly employed at Miller's Merry Manor and St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Brown Jr. and Jim Brown; and two sisters, Dorothy Dillingham and Mary Frances Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Vaughn Deckard, one son, Aron (and Stephanie) Deckard, Sullivan; one brother, Ralph (and Julie) Brown, Ticonderoga, N.Y.; three sisters, Barbara (and Bill) Carty, Sullivan, Shirley Moore, LaPorte, and Jo (and Bob) Engle, Elkhart; and three grandchildren, Madeline, Alexis and Bryce.
Private graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan, with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Friends may call from noon until time of services Saturday at Banks and Brust Funeral Home, Sullivan.
