Delilah Josephine Ireton (Kingen), 88, a resident of Ingalls, IN, died at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at Hancock Memorial Hospital, Greenfield, IN. Ms. Ireton was the child of the late Ronald Kingen and the late Evah Sylvester and was born February 25, 1914 in Madison County, Indiana. She was married to Jesse E. Ireton on February 20, 1933. Mr. Ireton, her husband of over 69 years, survives. Ms. Ireton is also survived by sons: Jesse E. (wife Doris) Ireton of Shirley; Myron E. (wife Carolyn) Ireton of Ingalls; sisters-in-law: Lois Phillips of New Castle; Maxine Kingen of Greenfield; and Mildred Leonard of Fortville; 7 grandchildren: Justin Wilson of Anderson; Brenda Smith of Pendleton; Brian Ireton of Fortville; Shelia Lankford of Shirley; Cathy Reynolds of Wilkinson; Mickey Ireton of New Castle; Amy Rose of Knightstown; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. An adopted daughter Cindy Smith of Greensburg also survives her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Orval Kingen and Marion Phillips, Jr.; sister Margaret Schafer and by grandson Monte Ireton. Ms. Ireton was a member of the Christ Fellowship Church of Shirley, IN and worked at the former Delco-Remy Division of General Motors Corporation in Anderson and its Horn Assembly Dept. from 1946 to 1955. Following that she was a homemaker. Services for Ms. Ireton will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31,2002 at the Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home, Fortville, IN officiated by Pastor Ernie Robinson of the Christ Fellowship Church. Burial will follow at the Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville, IN. Visiting will be on Thursday, May 30, 2002 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ingalls Volunteer Fire Department.
