Austin Aikens was born August 5, 1871, at Charleston, Doniphan county, Kansas. He spent his life until early manhood in Jackson county at Avoca. In the spring of 1898, he began the practice of law at South Haven, Kan., having completed the course at Kansas University. In the spring of 1902 he removed to Walters, Okla., where he took an active part in the development of the country. The remainder of his life was spent at that place, engaged in farming and the practice of his profession. He also served as judge of Cotton county, Okla. …. For a year his health had been such as to necessitate his discontinuing his activities. He died July 26, at the St. Joseph hospital, Fort Worth, Texas. He
leaves an aged mother, three brothers and five sisters …. The funeral was conducted from the rest house at the Holton cemetery….
