This gentleman, the first of the Balthaser Romberger-s in the United States, made the crossing from Germany to the United States with his father, Johann Bartholomus Romberger also known as John Bartholomus Romberger. Balthaser's mother was Anna Maria Brückner.


There are sources of his birthdate that conflict; his birth is often rendered as 1745-1747.


Like his father, Balthaser was once widowed, and thus had two wives. The first was Anna Maria Traut(t) Romberger, whom he married about 1770. She was born 1753, and died before 1797 in Mifflin Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Balthaser and Anna Maria Traut(t) Romberger had children:

Heinrich Romberger, born in New Holland, Lancaster County, July 12, 1773, died before January 31, 1822


Adam Romberger, born in New Holland, Lancaster County, June 3, 1775, died in Pillow aka Uniontown in Dauphin County on August 17, 1868


Anna Catharina Romberger, born in New Holland, Lancaster County, March 19, 1777, and died in Wiconsico, Dauphin County, PA on July 3, 1851


Balthasar Romberger (the younger) born in New Holland, Lancaster County, December 28, 1878, died in Mifflin Township, Dauphin County on June 16, 1839


Johannes Romberger, born in Lancaster County on November 29, 1783, died in Porter Township, Dauphin County, in 1840


and daughter Sarah as well.


After the loss of his first wife, on June 15, 1798 in Harrisburg, Balthaser married his second wife, Susannah Lehman. She was born about 1770 and bore him Susanna, Samuel, Jacob, Salome, Elizabeth, and Joseph B.
