Raymond L. Schell, 81, Minneiska, died today at Rochester Methodist Hospital. He was a lifelong farmer on the home farm in the Oak Ridge area.
The son of John and Pauline Guidinger Schell, he was born Oct. 25, 1896, at Oak Ridge. He married Helen Speltz Sept. 14, 1921, at Rollingstone, Minn. She died in June 1931. He was a member of St. Nicholas Society and the Winona Council, Knights of Columbus, and was past chairman of the Winona County Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service, was currently chairman of the of the Rollingstone Fire Insurance Co.,, chairman of the Rollingstone Oil Cooperative Co., and treasure of Mt. Vernon Township board.
Survivors are: a son, Charles, rural Minneiska; three daughters, Mrs. Roland (Jeanne) Olsmstead and Mrs. Leo (Mary) Rowekamp, Lewiston, Minn., and Mrs. Frank (Elizabeth) Hillebrand, Broomfield, Colo.; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two sisters, Miss Jessie Schell, Minneiska, and Mrs. Esther Speltz, Rollingstone.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Oak Ridge, The Rev. Frank Klein officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday after 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the church were a wake service will be at 8 followed by an 8:30 p.m. Rosary.
Sellner-Hoff Funeral Home, Rollingstone, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
