Syble Ruth Bassman was the first daughter of William D Bassman and Pearl Ethel Vaughan. She had six brothers and sisters: Basil, Casper, Sybil, Edith, Mabel, Rachel, and Veva Bassman.

Sybil never married and worked as a Telphone Operator.

She died at the age of 24 years 7 months and 10 days. The cause of her death was a Tumor of the Brain of one year six months duration. A neurological surgeon did a cerebral operation to try to help her but she died a month or so later.

She was buried in the Union Cemetery, Union, Missouri on August 14, 1932.

Her brother, Casper, gave the information for her death certificate.
