She was born July 31, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lloyd L. and Rachel Hatch Richins. She married Ernest Stanley Bird on January 31, 1949; he died on February 28, 2003. She married Clifton M. Ellsworth on May 14, 2005. Nelda was an active member of the LDS church serving in many callings including in the library, scouting, genealogy, and Relief Society. She was a good friend and neighbor. She had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed all kinds of crafts, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton; daughter, Susan Patterson; six grandchildren, Travis, Michael (Katie), Brant, Dustin (Sara), David (Kayla), and Rashel (Jason); four great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd (Utahna) Richins; sister, Orva Jepson. Preceded in death by husband, Ernest; son, David; and daughter, Linda.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 29, 2008 in the Hunter 9th Ward Chapel, 3450 South 6400 West, where Friends and Family may call both on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 11-11:45 a.m.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
