He was the son of Libert Sutton "Tip" "T L" (1886-1961) and Verla Bell Martin (1892-1963) Clark. They divorced by 1913. Verla married second to J M Mills on February 23, 1913 in Nortonville, Hopkins Co, Kentucky. They divorced about 1918. Verla then married Everett Agustus 'Gus' Hinman on May 23, 1919 in Henderson, Henderson Co, Kentucky. Gus died March 28, 1936. About 1938 she married Oscar Wiley Ullom - her fourth husband.

Kes' half brother: William Raymond Clark (1918-2006. Kes' half sister: Edna Lee Clark Bateman Carlisle. (1915-1948).

On the 1920 census in Indianapolis, Marion Co, Indiana Kester is with his mother and step father, Everett Hinman. He cannot be located on a census in 1930.

Kes first married in Greenfield, Hancock Co, Indiana on August 17, 1935 to Florence 'Kathleen' Maloney Clark (1916-1984).

They had one daughter: Charlene Joan Clark Harmon.

They are on the 1940 census (dated May 20th) at 1019 S Joseph (between 1942 and 1946 renamed Mickley), Indianapolis, Indiana. He is listed as a box maker and a meat packer.

He drove in stock car races and was a mechanic.

Kathleen and Kes divorced in June 1952.

He second married July 22, 1954 in Rossville, Georgia to Susie Ellen Dykes (1923-2005).

Kes was baptized by his nephew, Bill Clark, about February 1975 - by immersion. He was still attached to oxygen during the procedure.

Kes has a double head stone but Susie went to live in Somereset, Kentucky, her home town, after his death and she is buried there in Somerset City Cemetery. They had no children.

Kester O Clark, 67, 1019 S Mickley Av, died yesterday in Indiana University Hospital. Born at Eldorado, IL, he was an Indianapolis resident 54 years and had worked 22 years as a machinist at Western Electric Company, retiring in 1972. Services will be held at 11:30 am Friday in Conkle Lynhurst Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. Survivors include his widow: Mrs Susie E Clark; daughter: Charlene Harmon and grandson: David 'Scott' Harmon.

He died at age 67 years 0 months 9 days.

Gravesite Details

Both Kester and Susie's names are on the double headstone but she moved to Somerset. Ky after Kester's death and is buried there.
