Services Are Held For Boy Killed By Kick From Horse

Funeral service for Carl Angster, the 10-year-old son of Mrs. and Mrs. J.W. Stevens of Sand Coulee, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church at Sand Coulee and burial was in Sand Coulee cemetery.

Carl and a younger brother were rounding up some horses on their ranch out of Sand Coulee late Sunday evening when one of the horses kicked Carl in the stomach. The child did not think Carl was seriously hurt and told Mrs. Stevens that he guessed he would be all right in a little while. However, he took one of the horses from the barn and went back for Carl, whom he lifted on the horse and took back to the house.

As soon as the mother saw the lad, she realized how badly he had been hurt and he was brought to Great Falls immediately by George Keeney, a neighbor. Carl was taken to the Deaconess hospital for medical treatment. He was operated upon but died 15 minutes after he was taken from the operating table.
