Born Aug. 27, 1955, he was a son of Roy and Viola I. Mixer Parsons.
He was married to Caroline Clarkson. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Sims was a Quincy High School graduate and was a factory worker for a food processing company in St. James.
Survivors include his mother, Viola Russell of Quincy; one brother, Terry Sims and his wife, Dorothy, of Quincy; one sister, Carolyn Coulson of Quincy; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Cliff Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mound Prairie Cemetery in Beverly.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
