Benjamin A. Bailey
, 58, 1610 S. Main St., Galena, passed away at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. following a year-long illness.

Mr. Bailey was born on Feb. 23, 1912, in Galena and had lived here most of his life. He was last employed as a tool crib attendant with Autotronics in Joplin. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Galena and was former elder and deacon in the church.

He was united in marriage to the former Mrs. Dorothy Clark of Galena in Miami, Okla. on July 5, 1956.

Loved ones who survive are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Bailey of the home; his mother, Mrs. Gussie Bailey of Galena; a son, Bennie Bailey of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Dodson of Reeds, Mo., Mrs. Barbara Shuey of Raytown, Mo. and Mrs. Sue Coppenbarger of Joplin, Mo., a stepson, Alan Clark of Galena; two brother, John W. Bailey of Galena, and James F. Bailey, of Trona, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Davis of Berlin Heights, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the chapel of the Derfelt funeral home with Elder Delmar Cook and Elder Leonard Rogers officiating.

Mrs. Jan Leatherman will sing "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow," and Rev. Dow Booe will sing "Beyond The Sunset" with Mrs. Neva Secrist as accompanist.

Active pallbearers will be Lester Secrist, Van Bradshaw, Bob Phipps, Lester Johnson, John Scofield and Arthur Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Murray, Earl Vaughn, Charles Hunt, Oren Gray and Frank Dillon.

He will be laid to rest in the Union Chapel Cemetery with arrangements by Derfelt funeral home of Galena.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 Thursday night in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Empire.
