Carrington LaHue was the son of Cornelius and Sabrina Batman LaHue.

Carrington married Catherine Brubeck,daughter of Joseph Brubeck and Margaret Thomas on November 16, 1847 in Harrison County, Indiana.

By 1860, the family migrated to Illinois and by 1870, they had settled in Lecompton, Douglas County, Kansas.

Carrington and Catherine had seven children:

Margaret June (1848-1913) married Wesley Kitchin
Sabrina Elizabeth (1849-after 1930) married Aaron Burr Morlan
Charles Patterson (1852-1929) married Mary Elizabeth Martin
Mary Lucretia (1854-1898) married David Howell Martin
Cinderella Angeline (1857-1931) married William H. Nace
Marshall Grant (1862-1926) never married
Emery Sherman (1865-1888)
