GEORGETOWN - Merval Gannon, 89, of Georgetown, went to her heavenly home (Jan. 25, 2004) at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman.

She was born Dec. 15, 1914, in Georgetown, the daughter of John Henry and Stella (Camp) Sprouls. She married Donald R. Gannon on Dec. 22, 1934, in Danville. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1995.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlene (John) Schmit of Veedersburg, Ind.; two sons, Ron (Bobbie) Gannon of Georgetown and Gary (Trish) Gannon of Rigby, Idaho; eight grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-granddaughter and was the last survivor of five brothers and four sisters.

Merval was a homemaker, and her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed quilting and left her family with many of her beautiful handstitched works of art. She was a member of Pleasant Mound Church of Christ for all of her life.

Services were held at Houghton Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown; Officiating: Paige Norfleet; Burial: Georgetown Cemetery.
