2006, Tuesday, August 1st:Sapulpa Daily Herald: Gilbert Milton Simmons was born April 16, 1929 in Asher, Okla. to Elmer and Elizabeth Simmons. He married Betty Imogene Isaac Sept. 15, 1950. He passed away at his home in Oakhurst. He served in the United States Army in 1954 and received an honorable discharge. In June of 1984, he retired from 33 years with Liberty Glass Company in Sapulpa. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Temple in Tulsa.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his Mama and Papa, his three brothers; Buddy, Harvey and Amos, five sisters; Thelma Hall, Gladys Turner, Wanda George, Natalie Probis, and June Jantzen, and his grandson, Jamie, whom at this moment he has been reunited with in Heaven. Gilbert's greatest pride was his 13 grandchildren & his eight great-grandchildren. He also had lots of nieces, nephews and friends.
