Winnie was born in Ackworth, Iowa to Lyon Pangborn Wasson and Alpharetta Angeline Goss. She married Howard Curtis Adamson and came to Cheyenne in 1918 from Des Moines, Iowa. She and her husband ranched 15 miles northwest of Cheyenne until his death in 1964. Winnie then moved into Cheyenne to be near her children Avis and Dale. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Know Your Neighbor Club. Winnie died at Memorial Hospital at the age of 86.
