DAYTON - Joint funeral service will be held in McMinnville, Monday for a woman and her son in law, both long time Dayton residents.
They are Rosetta Smith 79, who died Friday, and Ralph Gilford Abill 65, who died Wednesday. Both had been ill for some time.
The joint services will be at 2pm Monday, Sept 12, at the chapel of Macy and Son, in McMinnville with interment at the Dayton IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born Oct 7, 1880 in Texas the daughter of Jesse and Mary Trayler. She had lived in the Dayton area for 56 years. At Clatskanie on Oct 23 1898, she married George W Smith, who died in 1935. She was a member of the Dayton Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, George Smith, Troutdale, and six daughters, Mrs. Cora Novak and Mrs. Agnes Abdill, Dayton, Mrs. Hallie Seller, Eugene, Mrs. Ruth Leach, Bay City, Mrs. Rosetta Rader, Newberg and Mrs. George Whitlow, Sitka of Alaska.
