Ora VanSlyde was born Sept. 29, 1879 at Windsor, Mo. Where she lived with her parents until 1891, when she moved to Pitsburg, Kan. After the death of her mother in 1894, she came to Oklahoma with her father and was married March 20, 1898 to G. A. Shaffner at Arlington, Okla. Mrs. Shaffner becae a member of the Christian church at the age of 15 years. She had lived in Hominy about four years and in the mean time had formed many friends by whom she will be greatly missed. A husband and baby boy survive her.
