Blaine Lavoy Hatch, 83, passed quietly away on August 16, 2008.

He was preceded in death and is now reunited with his son Michael Hatch, granddaughter Marine Gilbert Anderson, his parents Leston and Chloe Hatch, sisters, Margie Evans and Cleone Nelson, and brother, Larry Hatch. Blaine is survived by Anna Dean Hatch his beloved wife (SWEET) whom he married on February 9, 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in June of 1957 at the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Also survived by his brother, Gwendon Hatch, daughters, Mary Ann Gilbert, Trudy Martinez, son, Kevin (Cathy) Hatch, grandchildren Jess Martinez, Holly Cox, Ranee and Ken Derrick, Broc Martinez, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Blaine was a pilot during World War II and has since enjoyed many reunions with his squadron. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, which served to bring his family together for many great times. Blaine retired to Garden City, Utah, on the shores of Bear Lake. He found great peace and enjoyment from viewing the local wild life of the area. One of Blaine's greatest joys came from visits from his family and friends, but it was the great-grandchildren that put a twinkle in his eyes. All of us that knew and loved him will miss his wonderful sense of humor, stories of his childhood, and the ability to converse on any subject. Blaine was a truly knowledgeable man.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 20th at 1 p.m. in the Garden City 1st Ward Chapel in Garden City, UT. There will be a viewing prior to the services from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Interment: The Garden City Cemetery.
