Stella L. Hale, 93, of North Mill Street, London, Kentucky, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Laurel Heights Nursing Home.
Born May 28, 1909, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a retired grocery store owner and postmaster at Blackwater, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of London.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zada (Hammons) Sherman and George W. Sherman; and her husband, Billie Hale.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Swafford of London, Kentucky, Billy Jo Carson of Fairfield, Ohio, and Nola Webb of West Chester, Ohio; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harlan Avera and the Rev. Jamie Maxey officiating.
Burial followed in the Taylor Cemetery at London.
