Olaus Prowant was born November 27th, 1900 at Parkland, Okla. He died September 10, 1937, at the hospital in Liberal, Kansas, age 36 years, 9 month and 14 days. His early life was spent at Stillwater, Oklahoma.At the age of 15, he came to Texas County, Oklahoma, and has lived here ever since that time. His father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Nathanial Prowant, preceded him in death. He married Miss Sada Bonds November 17, 1924.He was of a happy disposition, very generous hearted and had many friends who will miss him. He leaves to mourn their loss; six sisters and one brother, Mrs. E. W. Taylor of Guymon, Miss Sue Prowant of Tulsa, Mrs. S. B. Smith of Stillwater, Mrs. E. H. Martin of Blackwell, Mrs. W. Claud Sale of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Hazel Horton of Tulsa, Mrs. Jay Prowant of Oklahoma City, and many other relatives and friends.Published in the Panhandle Herald, Guymon, Okla., Thurs., September 16, 1937, p. 3.
