She was born on the east end of Mahalasville Road. Her mother, Catherine Hudiburgh Merriman died when she was born. She attended school at Morgantown. She married Milburn Jacobs on May 6th, 1868. Catherine, likewise, died shortly after giving birth to Isaac S. Jacobs who was her only child. Isaac died sometime after 1916.

This post originally gave her name as Cathrin H. M. Jacobs. However, the work of Nova May Turner Mertens shows her name as "Catherine".

Milburn's biography states that she died June 16, 1869 instead of June 14th. It also says that she was a member of the "old-school Baptist Church". This is likely another term for Primitive Baptist Church.
