James R. Switzer, 79, of 229 Dunham Road, Martville, died Monday, Aug 12, 2002.
He was born in Edmeston, Mar 2, 1923, to Frank J. and Sarah B Kimball Switzer. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic and parts dealer and also operated a small-equipment repair business. His wife, the former June Strong died May 13, 2000; a son, Glenn died in 1957.
Survivors: Four daughters, Judy Husted of Littleton, N.H., Linda Dano of Pulaski, Karen Cooler of Summerville, S.C., and Ellen Weaver of Moncks Corner, S. C.; eight sons, Jimmy Switzer of Central Square, Frank Switzer of Syracuse, Danny Switzer of Ilion, Steve Switzer of Beaufort, S.C., David (Switzer) Backus of Horseheads, Charles Switzer of Pulaski, Jack Switzer of Greene, and Earl Switzer of Whitney Point; several sisters and brothers; 47 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren.
