~Obit~Leonard Austin Walton, age 73, and a resident of this community all his life, died at his home north of Troy Mills Saturday afternoon, April 27, following an illness of several years. Son of Reuben and Sarah Walton, he was born September 10, 1861, near Troy Mills, one of a family of thirteen children. Only one sister, Mrs. Katherine Petrie, is living, and she has made her home with Mr. Walton for several months. On March 13, 1886, he was married to Miss Mary Ramsey. Mrs. Walton died three years ago. Surviving are his children, Marshall Walton of Independence, Arthur Walton of Center Point, Burl Walton at home and Mrs. Hazel Bach of Center Point. Fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here Monday in charge of the Rev. John McKee of Brandon. Burial was in Troy Mills cemetery.
