Sonja P. Barnett, a resident of Centralia for 2 1/2 years, passed away in her home Tuesday, July 5, 1994. She was 56 years old.
Mrs. Barnett was born in Willits, California to Harold and Berniece (Brown) Cook. She was raised and went to school in the Los Angeles area. She married Errol Barnett September 8, 1972 in Hawthorne, Califonia.
They lived in Los Angeles for a few months before moving to Montrose, Colorado, where they lived for four years. From there they went to Casa Granda, Arizona for one year and Meeker, Colorado for three years. They spent 10 years in Sandy, Utah, where she studied hypnotherapy and NLP. She had her own practice there for six years before moving to Centralia.
She was a clinical hypnotherapist and practiced in her own business in Chehalis Behavioral-Dynamics. She was a registered counselor in the state of Washington and used her skills to help others in need.
Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Fords Prairie Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Centralia. She was also a member of Nanal and the American Counsel Hypnotic Examiners. She was devoted to her work and enjoyed her children and her grandchildren. She was an accomplished artist in painting and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors: Husband, Errol Barnett, Centralia; three daughters, Teri McCown, Calif.; Charlene Schaedel, Roselle, Illinois; Holy Mower, South Jordan, Utah; one brother, Ted Cook, Riverside, Calif.; two sisters, Adele Walker, Mariposa, Calif.; Sue Ann Render, Dix, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 11, 1994, 10 a.m. at the South Jordan Cemetery in South Jordan, Utah. Funeral directors, Broomhead Funeral Home.
