Confederate officer. Born in Berwick's Bay, La. in 1818. Moved to Texas in 1834 and served in the state legislature before the war; farmer; served Texas War for Independence; sherriff of Liberty County 1848-1849 and 1852-1854; Captain, Company F, 5th Texas - July 11, 1861; Major - August 30, 1862; Lt. Col. - November 1, 1862; wounded at Gettysburg and at the Wilderness (in both arms forcing his retirement March 8, 1865); member of Texas Convention of 1865.

First name given as Kendellia or Kindallis, but he preferred to use King.
