Hedwig Helen Lehmann was baptized March 28, 1910, by Pastor C. Wolff at St. Paul's Evangelical & Reformed Church in Gerald, Texas. Her baptismal sponsors were Christine Lehmann and Elsie Blankenstein. Hedwig Lehmann was confirmed by Pastor John Link on March 25, 1923, at St. Paul's Evangelical & Reformed Church (now St. Paul's United Church of Christ) in Gerald, Texas.

OBITUARY FROM THE WEST NEWS: Hattie Leuschner

Hattie Leuschner, age 95 of Waco, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2005 in Waco. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald with Rev. Stephanie Spitzer and Rev. Gene Kotrla officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hattie was born November 17, 1909, the daughter of Paul Lehmann, Sr. and Mary (Blankenstein) Lehmann. She attended school in the Ross area and married Albert Leuschner, Sr. on December 4, 1928 in Gerald. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1979. Hattie was a homemaker and a farm wife. She loved to play the piano and violin and played the piano in church for over 50 years until her retirement. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidering, sewing, and was active in Sunday school and the Women's Guild at St. Paul's United Church where she was a member.
Two sons, Jerry Leuschner and David Leuschner; and four sisters, Marie Brady, Clara Wedeking, Betty Dawson and Gertrude Drews all preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Albert Leuschner and wife Sandra of Waco and Gordon Leuschner and wife Kathleen of Garland; a brother Paul Lehmann and wife Ruth of Ross; a sister Minnie Spurgeon of Belton; two sisters-in-law, Lottie Lehde of Gerald and Nelda Leuschner of Northcrest; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Active pallbearers are her grandchildren, Lamar Leuschner, Dion Leuschner, Laura Cole, Mark Leuschner, Sherry Reynolds and Theresa Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearer is Danny Bode.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church or St. Paul's Memorial Fund.
