PALMER - Jerry W. Land, 63, of Palmer died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996 at the Coolidge Center in Palmer.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. The Rev. Robert King will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Palmer.
Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Land was born July 7, 1932, in Hamilton County to McKinley E. and Faye Campbell Land. He attended rural Merrick County schools and Central City High School.
He married Velma Rasmussen on May 22, 1955, at North Star. They lived in Chapman for 18 years, Grand Island for 11 years and in Palmer for the last 15 years. Mr. Land was a tool setter for New Holland until 1980. He later retired due to ill health.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jason Land of Palmer; two daughters, Pam Kolar of Palmer and Roxann (Mrs. Randy) Broshears of Mesa, Ariz.;four grandchildren; one brother, Wendell of Grand Island; eight sister, Dorothy (Mrs. Arthur) Dierks of Fullerton, Maxine (Mrs. Ervin) Beckstrom of Stromsburg, Phyllis (Mrs. Arnold) Hansen of Alma, Donna (Mrs. Robert) Spires of Exeter, Ethel (Mrs. L. L.) Dettman of Montrose, Iowa, Betty (Mrs. Marvin) Person of Grand Island, Jeanelle (Mrs. Ken) Mort of Plymouth, Ind., and Patricia (Mrs. Frank) Gottuso of Alma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Virgil and Donald Durdett Land; and one sister, Virginia Hovey.".
