Byron Anderson Howard, 83, died August 21, 1971 after an illness in a Logan hospital. Born May 4, 1888 in Huntington, to Erin Anderson and Clara Emma Luce Howard. Married Nida Grange October 26, 1908 in Huntington. Marriage later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Nida preceded him in death June 28, 1967.

Former employee, U.S. Forest Service, ranger, Huntington Canyon. Owner/operator Deer Creek Mining Co., Huntington Canyon Cattle rancher, Utah, Nevada, Canada Former county chairman, Democratic Party State Senator, Emery and Grand counties 1936-1941. Member of the Price Elks Lodge, No. 1550.

Byron is survived by his sons; Kent (Jenece) Howard, Elko, Nevada, Bruce (Ramona) Howard, Panguitch, Willis Howard, Salt Lake City and daughters; Clara (Lee) Bagnell, Jessie (Vay) Barney, both of Salt Lake City, Flora Bardwell, Logan and Nida Mae (Douglas) Jensen, Panguitch; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Edward, Anaheim CA, sisters; Geneive Oliver, Florence Bogarte and Bernice Grant, all of Salt Lake City.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife and sons Byron Allan Howard and Wilford Clark Howard.
