JOE ROOKS - Andersonville Man Dies of Heart Attack
Joe Rooks, a resident of Andersonville for 32 years, died on Sunday as the result of a heart attack. Born in Schley County, he was the son of Timothy Rooks and Amanda Lansford Rooks, and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Services were held at the Andersonville Baptist Church Monday afternoon with the Rev. Dupree of Andersonville officiating. Interment was in the OGLETHORPE CEMETERY.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Joe Rooks, a daughter, Mrs. L. C. Mayo of Atlanta; two brothers, John Rooks of Springdale, GA. and W. A. Rooks of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Slater of Plains and Mrs. Dora Young of Americus.
