GARNER, N.C. - Chief Bishop James Dixon Jr., of 245 Gaffer St., Garner, passed Thursday, July 31, 2008. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008, Upper Room Church of God in Christ, 3300 Idlewood Village Road, Raleigh with burial in Montlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Bible Way Temple, 1110 Holmes Street, Raleigh.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Woods Dixon, of the home; daughters, Cynthia Savage of the home and Annette Giles of Georgia; sons, Darnell (Sherryl) Dixon and J. Titus (Andrea) Dixon, both of Raleigh; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Mother Cornelia Gunn, of the home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bible Way Temple in memory of Bishop James Dixon Jr.
