I seem to be the first person to have both researched this person, Hetty Elizabeth BLOSE, AND posted that research on the Internet.
My initial research started when I discovered her tiny marble gravestone at Eastview Cemetery. Beside Hettie's gravestone is a much larger marble pillar stone with four names on it: Daniel BLOSE(1820), Daniel's mother Anna Martha (WALTON) BLOSE(1789), Daniel's wife Elizabeth ROWE(1821), and Daniel's fourth child Diana(1849). Based on this alone, it was pretty obvious that Hetty was the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth BLOSE.
This gravestone is extremely difficult to read, in August, 2008, I originally read the name as "Dewey," but I had to struggle mightily to do that. Plus, Dewey doesn't seem like a valid name for a female 1856 although anything is possible. But then in November, 2008, someone named Karen posted a message on the Westmoreland County message board at RootsWeb.com indicating that a source, probably a bapisimal record that someone had researched, showed "Hetty Elizabeth" as the seventh child of Daniel and Elizabeth BLOSE. Karen's exact words are ""Her name came from her christening record. I believe that is in one of Paul Miller Ruffs transcribed baptismal records." So I have decided to use "Hetty" as her name. I should also mentioned that Karen's independant information lists her DOD as 4 Mar 1856. That matched the DOB I calculated from the information I red off of Hettie's gravestone.
