Frank Samples was born July 28, 1876, in Gonzales county, Texas. Died Nov. 8, 1894, after about 18 hours suffering. He was accidently shot with a target gun by his younger brother Robert.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. W. Key at the Old Sample cemetery. It was, indeed a great shock to us when we were summoned to dear Franks bedside "that he had been shot."

Frank had just entered into manhood, he was a good boy and obedient son. His life was so precious to mother, sisters and brother. All that knew him loved him. While we miss him every moment, and know the loss is great, it pleased our midst this dear boy, so we must recognize in this stroke of death the hand of an allwise and merciful Father who doeth all things well. We deeply sympathize with the family and in offering words of condolence we commend them to a Heavenly Fathers care, with the assurance that if their is in the glorious cross of Christ, they will all meet again in heaven, where sorrow and parting is no more.

"Farewell Frank, farewell brother,
Peaceful be thy silent rest,
Slumber sweetly, God knew best,
When to call thee home to rest,

Thou hast loved us long and well,
But, we must say our last farewell,
How we miss thee none can tell,
Jesus called thee, all is well."
A Friend.
