MRS. JAMES DEROSSETT DIES IN PONTIAC HOSPITAL; RITES WEDNESDAY
A patient in St. James hospital, Pontiac, the past three months, Mrs James Derossett, of Cornell, 67, died there at 8:30 o'clock last evening.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Cornell Baptist church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. Shobe officiating. Internment will be made in Cornell cemetery. The body lies at the harris funeral home in Pontiac, where friends may call until noon Wednesday.
The daughter of the late John and Doretta Yentz, the former Helen Barbara Yentz was born in Chicago September 7, 1878, but had spent the greater part of her life in Cornell. She was married to James Derossett in Winfield, Kansas, July 10, 1912, and they had since resided in Oklahoma and Cornell. Mrs. Derossett was a member of the Mothers' Service Club in that community.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Leonard, of Cornell, and Mabel Derossett, of Pontiac, and two sons, Vernon, of Cornell, and Pvt, Cecil, stationed at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Ark. Another son, Sgt. Wilbur, was killed on Leyte, in the Philippines, February 27, 1945. Also left are two sisters, Miss Carrie Yentz of Tampico, and Mrs. George Jensen, of Ottawa; a brother, Ernest Yentz of Cornell, and six grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased.
