Mr. Oner Iven Kerley, age 100, a resident of Fouke, Arkansas, and former resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 in the Christus St. Michael Health System.
He was born to Claiborne and Martha Peacock Kerley, on May 10, 1908 at Comanche, Texas. He was a retired employee of Vaught Aircraft Industries, Inc., at Grand Prairie, Texas, and was a Baptist. He had a passion for blue grass music, and could play guitar and fiddle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, all eleven siblings, his son-in-law, Bill Reeves, and in 2001, his wife, Estell Oketa Montgomery Kerley.

He is survived by one daughter Carol Reeves of Fouke, Arkansas, one son and daughter-in-law, Maloye and Maria Kerley of Midlothian, Texas, 10 randchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, a nephew, Harlond Dennis of Ft. Worth, Texas, and his sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and John Daughtery of Nacogdoches, Texas.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Kerley will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008 in the Bellville Cemetery, Lockesburg, Ark. with Rev. Wesley Blankenship officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
