Obituary
Reverend Mary Josephine Pulley, daughter of the late Lumas A. Robinson and Ella Renfrow Robinson, was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on March 26, 1927. She departed this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2002.
Her early years of education were received in Wilson County, NC and her extended education was received at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC.
She accepted Jesus at an early age and was baptized at that time at the Piney Grove Baptist Church of Wilson County. She was the Associate Pastor of Lofton Chapel Church in Wilson for twenty-four years. Later she joined the White Oak Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member until her health failed.
She was loving, caring and a devoted mother, sister and wife. She loved the Lord and served Him daily, even through her illness. She was a friend to everyone she met.
In 1955, she was united in holy matrimony to Hulen McCoy Pulley. To this union one child was born, Iris Faye Pulley.
Her treasured loving memories are left to: her husband, Hulen McCoy Pulley of the home; daughter Iris Faye Pulley of the home; son Lumas (Sugar Man) Robinson of Wilson County; one stepdaughter, Brenda Jones of Kenly, NC; five grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Taylor of Wilson, NC; and Stella Cofer of Pennsauken, NJ; special brother, Rudolph Mayes of Augusta, GA; and a host of nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends.
"Her work in life was ended, her race has now been run she answered the call of the Master, then He said, "My child well done." Good-bye to you, dear loved one, sleep on and take your rest. In life we love you dearly; but God loves you best."
