Nicholas L. Singleton, 75, of Rushville died Saturday, June 14, 2008.

He was born in Rushville August 28, 1932 the son of Epson and Bertha (Halterman) Singleton, both deceased. A 1950 graduate of Rushville High School he married Shirley Northam on January 15, 1965, she survives.

He was employed at the former International/Schnadig Furniture Company for several years. He was employed with the City of Rushville as Parks Director/Boys Club Director for 23 years. In December of 1985, he and his wife started N & S Cleaning Service from which he retired. Most recently he was Caretaker at the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum for the past 7 years. He also helped start Rushville Little League.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters Sue and Sandy, one son Michael (Butch) (Christie), and two grandchildren Jonathon and Jama. He is also survived by one brother David M. (Barbara) Singleton of Hot Springs Village, AR.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Bob and Charles, and one sister Betty Melander.

There will be no viewing or funeral service. He will be interred at the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. On Saturday. June 28, 2008 from 2p – 5p, there will be a Celebration of Life open house at the shelter house in Laughlin Park (West End Park).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial fund in his name at Rush County Community Foundation 117 N. Main St. Rushville, IN 46173or to the charity of your choice.
