HELEN G. JUDD, 90, a resident of South Whitley, died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Hospice Home in Fort Wayne where she was admitted on Wednesday.
She was born November 14, 1916 in Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of Sylvester ?Wes? and Mabel (Worrick) Hine. Her formative years were spent in Jefferson Township. She graduated from Jefferson Center High School.
On December 25, 1940 she was united in marriage to Gerald Clayton Judd. They made their home in Union Township and later Jefferson Township, moving to Cleveland Township in 1966. Mr. Judd died July 30, 1971. Since 1980 Helen has made her home in South Whitley.
Her memberships include Eagles #1906 Auxiliary.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Janet Michel of Roanoke; a son, Steve (Donna) Judd of Columbia City; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three half brothers, Carl Stayer of Phoenix, Arizona, Dale Stayer of Goodland and Don Stayer of Fort Wayne.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marion ?Buster? Hine and her step father, Silas Stayer.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Nolt Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
