David William Jackson, 71, former resident of the Flathead Valley, died in Aumsville, Ore. on Friday.
He was born June 22, 1903, in Garden Grove, Iowa.
He had received his schooling in Medora, N.D. and later homesteaded in North Dakota. In 1934, he was married to Blanche Dempsey at Wibaux, Mont.
In 1939, he moved to the Kalispell-Creston area where he had engaged in logging operations. In 1960, he moved to Aumsville, Ore., where he had made his home since that time.
Mr. Jackson is survived by four sons, Tommy of Kalispell, David, Steve and James Jackson all of Martin City; five daughters, Mrs. Tom (Della) Finch of Martin City, Delores Jackson and Alice Sheppard (sic) both of Martin City, Mrs. Ron (Rachel) Wilbur of Caldwell, Idaho and Mrs. Rick (Bea) Morris of Columbia Falls; 25 grandchildren; a sister, Bertha Singleton of Antioch, Cal.; three half brothers, Russell Swingle of Wumsville, Ore., Gus Flory of Stellar, Mo. and Harold Flory of Springfield, Ore.; two half sisters, Nora Butts of Turner, Ore. and Mabel Thomasser of Columbia Falls.
Graveside rites will be in the Creston Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday with the Rev. Ralph Werner, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.
