Selma Dare Stillman Oliver, 86, passed away Aug. 3, 2008. She was a native of Roper, N.C., and was the daughter of the late John and Sarah Stillman. She was a member of Cradock Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James C. Oliver; a daughter, Joni O. Jackson and husband Steve of Portsmouth; two grandsons, James Jackson of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Paul Jackson of Portsmouth. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Rob Edwards. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Cradock Baptist Church. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
