Born March 16, 1878, in Chesterton, the daughter of Edward and Emily Schaper. In 1900 she married Fred Ruhe.
She was a lifelong resident of the Chesterton area, and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and the Rosary Society.
One son, Edward of Chesterton survives. She isalso survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Peters, Chesterton, and Mrs. Amelia Alyward, Livermore, Calif; one brother, William Schaper, St. Petersburg, Fla; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick's Catholic church with the Rev. Ralph Hoffman officiating.
