Our beloved father and grandfather, Elden Verterce Osborne, died Friday, August 1, 2008 in Tooele, Utah from causes incident to age. He was 88 years young.
Elden was born June 3, 1920 in Crescent, Utah to George Henry and Elizabeth Jane Dansie Osborne. He served in WWII entering September 1942 in Oran, Africa, to Sicily, Rome, through the Arden Forest to Germany, returning September 1945 on the Queen Mary. He worked 43 years at Kennecott Copper mine until retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.
He is survived by his children, Ruth (Roy) Hatch, John (Brenda) Osborne, Mike (Yolonda) Osborne, Steve (Jane) Osborn, Doug (Kailynne) Osborne, Alan (Mercedes) Olsen, and Vaughn (Linda) Olsen; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis, Walter, LaMar, Robert "Wick", and Alvin; sisters, Blanch Hendrixson and Vira Houmand; and son, Kerry Olsen.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, where Friends and Family may call one hour prior to services from 12-1 p.m.
Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
