Alta Faye Roper, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel (Strickland) Briggs, was born on September 7, 1930 on a farm near Hardy, Nebraska in Republic County Kansas. She passed away on September 1, 2004 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 24 days.
Alta Faye graduated from Hardy High School. On January 3, 1951 she was united in marriage to Delbert E. Roper at her parent's home in Hardy. This union was blessed with two daughters, Joyce Ann and Patricia Lea.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Patricia.
Survivors include her husband Delbert, of Webber, KS; one daughter, Joyce Roper of Hastings, NE; one sister, Margaret Myers of Superior, NE; one granddaughter, foster grandson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 3, 2004 at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Stark officiating.
Pallbearers were Steve Behrends, Dennis Medley, Kevin Myers, Larry Myers, Everett Myers and Brett Behrends. Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Davis, Gerald Persinger, Jim Persinger, Harold Sweet, Richard Behrends and Glen Behrends.
Interment was in the Hardy Cemetery at Hardy, Nebraska.
