J.C. Cowen Expires Following Illness
Last Rites For Honored Citizen Today In Coffee County-Jeff C. Cowen is dead at the age of 58. He died at his home two miles east of Andalusia Wednesday afternoon after an illness of long duration. He had been confined to his room for several months before his death. He was a native of Coffee County but had lived in Andalusia
for approximately fifteen years. He is survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters. Son are Justice, Dewey, Enoch and Carl. Daughters are Mrs. Vera Thurman, Columbus, Ga.; and Miss Lois Cowen, Andalusia. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister, brothers are Jim and Dan Cowen, and Mrs. Lena King, all residents of Coffee County. The body was carried to Danley's Cross roads in Coffee County this afternoon where funeral service and burial will take place. The funeral will be preached by Elder Jack Mitchell of Coffee County, after which interment will take place in the family plot. Complete funeral arrangements had not been made at the time of going to press and will be published next week. Funeral arrangements will be by Patrick.
