Albert D'Orr Child

Albert D'Orr Child was born on March 10, 1914 to Horace Ezra Child and Eliza Jane Taggart in Frontier,Wyoming. He was the seventh of 11 children.
D'Orr died on May 9, 2005 in South Jordan, Utah. Funeral services were held May 13, 2005 in Afton, Wyoming at the Fourth Ward LDS Chapel. Burial took place in the Freedom Cemetery.
D'Orr married Elnora Hanbson on May 27, 1931 in the Logan LDS Temple. Elnora passed away on Dec 6, 1974. D'Orr married Myrna Hansen in October 1976. She passed away on March 12, 1999.
D'Orr and Elnora lived in Freedom for 30 years until health problems forced them to move to Afton. D'Orr remained in Afton until January 2000.
D'Orr owned and managed a ranch and dairy herd, drove a high school bus, worked for Brog Creamery in Freedom and Hemmert Hardware. He also worked at Call-Air, Polaris, Caribou and Maverick in Afton. He retired in 1989 at the age of 75. After retirement he continued working odd jobs for Box Y, the Afton City Cemetery, accounting for Fred Suloff and income taxes for clients. As his health failed, he moved to Salt Lake to be closed to family.
D'Orr was a memeber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Within the church he served as a Stake Missionary, Stake Genealogy Chairman, Co-Chairman for Stake Baptisms, Bishop, High Councilor, Stake Singles Advisor, Ward Executive Secretary, Ward Clerk, Financial Clerk and as a faithful hometeacher.
D'Orr is survived by five children, LaRae (Dwayne) Wright: Jenny Martin; Vern (Annette) Child; Diane English; Claire Lowe; 30 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and three sisters, Leora (Marvin) Rich; Shirley (Lafe) Dana; and Aileen (Karl) Belz.
He is also survived by five step children, Valerie (Allen) Haderlie; Rich (Sherri) Hansen; Mike (Vandi) Hansen; Jerry (Jenni) Hansen; and Dean (Debbie) Hansen; 33 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, two wives. two sisters, five brothers, two step brothers, one step sister and one granddaughter.
